Smart Pattern Making provides professional physical-to-digital pattern conversion (digitizing) services across multiple manufacturing sectors. To protect client confidentiality and streamline our operational workflow, we enforce a strict policy regarding the submission, retention, and destruction of physical patterns. By shipping your physical materials to our facility, you explicitly agree to the following terms.
1. The "Duplicates Only" Rule
Smart Pattern Making offers digitizing services exclusively for duplications or copies of original designs or patterns provided by the customer.
- No Original Artwork: We strictly do not accept original, one-of-a-kind designs, master patterns, or irreplaceable physical garments for digitizing.
- Hold Harmless Waiver: The customer is solely responsible for retaining their original master designs. If a customer ignores this policy and submits an original or irreplaceable item, Smart Pattern Making shall be held entirely harmless for any damage, loss, or destruction of that item.
2. Data Protection & Mandatory Destruction
To ensure absolute data security and prevent the unauthorized physical replication of your proprietary designs, we operate a zero-return policy for physical assets.
- Post-Digitizing Destruction: Upon successful completion of the digital conversion process, all physical duplicate patterns provided to us will be permanently destroyed using secure, confidential disposal methods.
- Cancellation Destruction: In the event of an order cancellation after the physical patterns have arrived at our facility, all physical copies in our possession will be immediately destroyed.
- No Returns: Under no circumstances do we package and return physical duplicate patterns to the customer.
3. Shipping Liability & Intellectual Property
Proper packaging and clear legal ownership are the sole responsibility of the customer.
- Packaging Requirements: Customers are strictly advised to package patterns securely by utilizing two solid pieces of cardboard or a heavy-duty cardboard shipping tube to prevent folding, tearing, or weather damage.
- Transit Liability: Smart Pattern Making is not liable for patterns that are lost, delayed, or damaged in transit by postal carriers before arriving at our facility.
- Intellectual Property Indemnity: By submitting a pattern for digitizing, you warrant that you are the legal copyright owner or have the explicit authorization to reproduce the design. You agree to indemnify and hold Smart Pattern Making harmless against any third-party claims of intellectual property infringement arising from the digitization of the materials you supply.

Legal - Download Terms

Smart Pattern Making offers non-tangible, irrevocable digital goods (including CAD files, DXF patterns, and digital markers). Because digital products cannot be "returned" once accessed, refunds are generally not issued once an order is completed and the product delivery email is sent. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and accept this strict no-refund policy. However, we stand by our technical quality and will honor remedy requests under the specific exceptional circumstances outlined below.
1. File Expiration & Access Limits
To protect our intellectual property and server bandwidth, all digital purchases are subject to strict automated download limits. Customers are entirely responsible for downloading and safely backing up their files immediately upon purchase.
- Download Expiry: Secure download links expire exactly 6 hours from the time of purchase.
- Download Limit: You are permitted a maximum of 4 download attempts per purchased file.
- Expired Links: We do not issue refunds for failure to download the file within the 6-hour window or after exhausting the 4-attempt limit.
2. Software & CAD Compatibility
Our files are exported using industry-standard formats. However, it is the buyer's sole responsibility to ensure they possess the proper software required to open, unzip, and utilize the files.
- Third-Party Software: Refund, return, or exchange requests based on incompatibility with third-party software (e.g., Gerber, Tukatech, Lectra, Adobe Illustrator) will not be honored unless the file was explicitly advertised as compatible with that specific software version on the product's preview page.
- Unzipping Files: Many of our deliverables are compressed into .ZIP format. You must have the appropriate decompression software to extract the files.
3. Exceptional Circumstances for Refunds
While our default policy is "Final Sale," our Technical Support Team will investigate and remedy the following verifiable issues.
4. How to Request Technical Support
Our Technical Support Team is committed to delivering professional assistance in a timely manner. To initiate a claim under any of the exceptional circumstances listed above, you must submit your request in writing.
- Please include your original Order Number, the email address used for purchase, and any screenshots or error logs documenting the issue.
- Please allow up to 24-48 hours for our technical team to investigate the file and respond to your inquiry.
